How do I get the NHS to pay for medical services abroad?
Question:
Answers:
You can only get free healthcare in the European Union countries. You need to get a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC Card). Get one free from the local health authority (I'd ask at your GP) or apply at the Post Office (charge of £2).
Other Answers:
That depends, are you going on holiday? If your going to live abroad then the NHS wont pay for you medical care.
If your just going on holiday you need European Health Insurence Card (if your holidaying in Europe, if not you will have to take out Travle insurence which should cover you) which you can get online from www.nhs.uk
