What causes a headache to last for 3 days?
Question:
The pain feels like alot of pressure and it worsens with movement.
Answers:
Some possible reasons---You may be right, sinus headache. Others-caffeine headache(Do you drink alot of caffeine and recently quit cold turkey?)-- Migraine, not usually pressure type pain though. I would stick with Sinus headache. Oh, and it could be your ears(worsening with movement) but you would probably feel the pain in your ears, and probably be dizzy. You're probably in the beginning stages of a sinus infection.
well dear
you may have answered your own question here..go see your doctor, and tell him/her what you just said about it goes away when you take sinus meds...
maybe you have a small infection and this is the cause of your headaches.
I would go as soon as I could to your docs.
good luck

early symptoms of the flu. or you could have migranes. you may have a sinus infection. you may not be drinkning enough water, either. I know when I go without drinking water for a day or so (soda and juice does not count) i get killer headaches, like they are migranes. drink a lot of water, you may be lasking oxygen in your system.
regardless, if it is persistant for more than a week, i would call the doctor and get checked out.
good luck!
Sounds like it could be sinus pressure and/or a sinus headache.
However, it could be a few other things. For instance, do you have an issue with blood pressure? If your blood pressure is high, then that may be the cause of the headache.
It could be a migraine. It could be stress along with a migraine or it could be stress along with the sinus headache.
There are a lot of options for relief. I'm sure you know that you could go and see your doctor and get checked out. You could try a humidifier or a vaporizer. You could continue to use the medicine that makes your headache feel better. Better to be safe than sorry. If it continues, I would go get it checked out.
It sounds to me like you have a migraine. I get them quite a lot. They usually make you feel really tired, sensitive to light, nausous, and it feels like a tonne of pressure on your head.
The best thing to take is pills that are for Migraines (like Advil Migraine or something like that).
The best thing for it is slep and lots of it.
They are usually caused by stress ( I know I stress a lot).
If it gets soo bad that you can not function-- you can go to the hospital (at least in Canada) and get a shot (usually in the butt). Mine have never been that bad, but my brother has ended up in the local emergency room a feew times.
So sleep, drink lots of water, and avoid light and movement.
I hope you feel better:-)
To rule out sinus problem, check the pain area. would be in the cheeks and forehead. The relief from the meds is possibly the result of tipping your head backwards and reducing the muscle tension in the neck. If you find a very tender spot when pressing at the base of the skull, you will have found the problem.
To get relief, try rolling up a towel and placing it under your neck..or, lay on your bed and with your head hanging over the edge.. will give you some traction (15 lbs) and stretch those neck muscles a bit . To get rid of the problem, try visiting a good doctor of Chiropractic. He will show you what to do at home to help reduce the problem, in coordination with his treatment..
