My baby's eyes have been discharging some yellowish and sometimes gray substance in the morning.?

Question:
Eye drop:eg. Choraphenicol has not worked. It started since she was born. She is now 2yrs8mths. What do I do?

Answers:
Sounds like conjunctivitis. It's very common in babies but it is very easily spread. Go to your GP and get some proper ointment. When you are cleaning your baby's eyes, use cotton wool and boiled water that has been left to cool down (that way it is sterile). Just give the eye one wipe, starting from the centre (nearest the nose) and sweeping outward. If it is still dirty, use and fresh piece of cotton and do it again. It will soon clear up!

Other Answers:
Seek the medical advice of an opthamologist or a pediatrician.
I would speak to an opthamolagist or a doctor. In the meantime I would gently bathe with a saline solution. Dip cotton wool in solution and gently sweep once across the eye, do not sweep back over as you can spread the infection. Then discard and repeat with new cotton wool. Might not cure it but it certainly won't do any harm. I would seek professional advice as soon as possible.
