Cold Sores?

Question:
I get cold sores every once in a while, but i was wondering what can help it besides the creams such as abreva. Is there any medicines out there you can ask from a doctor? ive tried valtrex but didnt work so well. thanks.

Answers:
when u put the cream on, put salt or baking soda on it to stop it from growing, dont put it on without the cream or it will hurt, like putting alcohol on a wound

Other Answers:
get perscription medicine from a doctor, you either get the kind that you have to take daily (if you get cold sores a lot) or the ones that you take when you feel a cold sore coming up.
L-Lysine, which is an amino acid, in the vitamin/mineral section of the grocery or drug or health food store. Taken regularly, like daily, has been reported to ward of all types of herpes. Sorry, but cold sores are herpes.
I get them too. You need to get something called L-lysine. In your vitamin aisle at the store, it really does help me, I take one a day when I first notice the symptoms. L-lysine works from the inside out. Regarding topically, I like abreva. There is also a chapstick-like product called (don't laugh..) "herpacin." It's good too. Hope this helps!
