Is it a bad idea to use over the counter medicines on a constant basis.?

Question:
I had knee surgery on both of my knees but I still continue to have some joint pain and was just wondering whether if it's bad in any way to take over the counter anti-inflammatories such as aspirin, aleve, etc. every day as long as you're taking the suggested dosage.

Answers:
anti-inflammatory medicine can be very dangerous if not taken under medical supervision and for long periods of time. aspirin for example can attack the stomach and can even cause an ulcer in people with sensitive stomach, even taken in the recommended dosage.
my recommendation is to talk with your doctor or pharmacist and see what they say about it

Other Answers:
On Aleve commercials they talk about taking it every day for arthritis. You're probably fine, but you could ask your doctor to be sure.
