Question about Dehydration and Urine?
Question:
Answers:
Your body when you are dehydrated conserves water by concentrating its urine. This is an example of homeostasis in your body. When dehydrated, your kidney actually absorbs free water thereby concentrateing the urine. Its trying to conserve water. The darkness of the urine comes from all the toxins your kidney is filtering out. Normally, if you drink enough water, the urine is fairly diluted out so the color is not as obvious. (its like cleaning paint brushes, the more water you use to clean the brushes, the lighter the color of the runoff water)
Other Answers:
becuase you dont have enough water in your system, thats a sign that you dont drink enough water.
You don't have enough water to dilute everything coming out.
less water to dilute the bile and waste in, sort of in a concentrated form. usually smells bad also
because there is not enuff water to dilute!
Because it is more concentrated. The more water you drink the more the diluted the waste in your urine is. Think of a pot of coffee that you haven't taken off of the burner.and it just sits there and sits there.when the water evaporates, the remaining coffee gets darker and stronger because it is more concentrated. make sense?
If you dont drink a lot of water, than your urine is more urea (waste) than water. If you are well hydrated the urea is diluted in water and looks much lighter

because urinating is the way your body expels toxins. when you drink lots of water, these become diluted and your urine is almost clear, like water. when you are dehydrated, the toxins are very concentrated and make your urine dark.
It simply has a higher concentration of waste in it. The better hydrated you are, the more diluted, and therefore, lighter in color, your urine becomes.
If you're dehydrated you wouldn't urinate. You are close to dehydration if your urine is dark. Theres not enough fluids for you to urinate, so when its dark your body is getting rid of waste with limited fluids in the body.
When a person is dehydrated the hypothalamus in the brain reduces the release of the hormone ADH. This creates a urine with very little water and more dissolved solids. When the urine passes through the nephron, a lot of the water is reabsorped because it is desperately needed for your body. Therefore, the leftovers are darker because the urine is more concentrated with solids of dark colors, rather than clearer because of the dilution by lots of water.
Everyone who answered this question repeated what everyone else had already said. well not me :D
Your body produces roughly the same amount of waste regardless of how much you have been drinking dark dehydrated urine is simply more concentrated because you haven't been drinking enough water to dilute it.
Without enough water in your system, your urine becomes concentrated and therefore darker. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
One of the functions or urination is to "take out the garbage." The kidneys collect waste products that your body makes. These particles are held in suspension in your urinary bladder. If you are dehydrated, your body needs water for other functions so that the suspended particles are concentrated in less water. More concentration means darker urine.
One thing to watch out for is if the dark color might be blood. This is NOT good. If you suspect that the yellow urine is a little to "orangey," get it checked out.
not only do you not have enough free water in your body, but you also are putting alot of stress on your kidneys as a result. Dark urine is also an indication that your kidneys and liver are not doing well. Drink, drink, drink and then if it does not clear up please go to your PCP.

Your kidneys extract the waste from your blood and dispose of it through your urine.
The less fluid you drink.the more "polluted" your urine will be.
imagine adding water to tea.the more water you add the lighter and weaker it gets.
