How much time does it take to regain full range of movement at ankle after 2mths of plaster immobilization?


Question:
I had fracure of talus bone. Now 7 days after removal of plaster cast I have only 40 -50% of normal range of movement. Will I able to regain full range of movement? How much time will it take to regain full range of movement at ankle jt? What should I do to help that?

having that much range of movement so early is a good sign...if you can go to physical therapy it can really help you out but if you can't just try to use it as much as you can but don't over do it or you could really mess things up..as a tip try doing stretches with it and holding it for 10-15 seconds or something like that, or moving it in each direction..i'd do this while you're sitting in a chair at the computer or watching tv....

If you can afford it through insurance or whatever, go to physical therapy. If not, use the ankle, but don't over do it. It's going to take quite a while for the ligaments and everything to get back into shape. I'd say at least another two months. It will be tender for a long time.
