How do you use a gait belt to help transfer patients?
Question:
Answers:
PLace the gait belt around the patients waist and fasten the belt snuggly. You should be able to get your hands between the patient and the belt but the belt should not ride up. If the belt seems to slide up then you don't have it on tight enough. Place your hands between the belt and the patient and grab onto the belt using the belt to lift the patient up out of the chair, bed or whatever.
