My sternum is making a cracking, almost ripping noise at certain times, is this bad?

Question:
I've had this happen a few times. I'll get up to move and my chest, sternum, right between my breasts will feel like it needs to pop. Like when your wrist or elbow sticks. Then if I move a certain way, it makes a snapping crack, then a "rip" of sorts. It's quite odd to describe. Has anyone any ideas to why this would occur? And it is slightly painful, brought on by NO injury. Just started a bit ago.

Answers:
Make no bones about it..you probably have a bone condittion which is causing them to become weak..yes it's bad..but if I were you;make slow movements and try not to overexert yourself on lifting anything until after a physical.
X-rays will show if it is cracked and a physician can better diagnose what is causing this

Uh, I think I would get that checked on to be on the safe side.

Well, Buddy, I'm no doctor, but I don't know if it's good. Maybe you should ask your doctor about this one. This does not sound good. See a doctor.

You're fine. You may have a pinched nerve. Just check it with your doctor. Yake it easy and give yourself a rest.

I have no idea what it could be, but I recommend getting it checked out by a doctor. Your ribcage protects all sorts of important things and needs to work properly.
