On a drug test can you differenciate between Oxycodon and Oxycontin?

Question:

Answers:
Actually oxcontin is oxycodone it is just that oxycontin is a continuous release formulation. Hence the name oxy"contin". Oxycodone comes as long acting (oxycodone) and immediate acting (oxycodone IR). Oxycodone can also be combined with tylenol to make the active ingredients in the brand name medicine percocet, with aspirin to make the brand name medicine percodan, or with ibuprofen to make the brand name medicine combunox.

To answer your question on a drug test it will come up positive for opiates specifically oxycodone. But they will not be able to tell whether you took a long or short acting form of the medication.

Other Answers:
the difference between the two is one has tylenol in it and the other has asa (aspirin) in it..people dont usually test for those two but the drug itself will definitely show up in a drug test..it is an opioid
