why do our bllod have antibodies for the types of blood we dont have? ex y do type a make b antibodies?

Blood types are based on sugar groups on the outside of red blood cells. We do not automatically have antibodies against the other blood types, but we will MAKE them when red blood cells of another blood type are injected into our blood, just like we will make antibodies against the flu virus or the pneumococcus bacteria if it is injected into us.
