Cant fall asleep.. Help Please!?


Question:
I'm 19.. just cant seem to fall asleep now.. lied on my bed for over an hour tryin to ward off to dreamland..

I got an exam in the morning n its 3 a.m. right now.. i dont really have exam tension but a lot of family issues running on my mind.. tried to shut them out.. still not sleepy.. i didn gave caffiene or heavy mealz or any of the sort.. (i'm pms-ing though)..

so what do i do? Any ideas?

Do you have any melatonin? Take a couple of those.
or have a warm shower and a hot milky drink.
Hope exam goes ok tomorrow.
Listen to boring music or read a book, drink warm milk
read a book, count sheep (I know that sounds corny, but it seriously helps me), go take a hot bath, put in some soothing music...any of those should help! Good luck!
Well, for me, I can relate to you. What I would do is write down everything that's bothering you; what it is, how you feel about it, etc etc. I know that sounds stupid, but to me its like emptying your mind and leaving more room for dreamland. Sorry I can't give much help. I hope you get some sleep!
try warm milk or boring tv such as the news..a book might work..or just think of pleasant things (i know it sounds cheesy but it always works for me).

try studying! i know you might not be in the mood to do that but its really boring.
Take a warm bubble bath with lavendar scented oil while playing classical music. :D
Tylenol PM, or a few shots of Vodka Works wonders, just not both at the same time.

i know my answer is nothing that you dont know, but i guess i will just remind it.
close your eyes lie down flat and try and relax , think of some beautiful place and imagine like you are there and there is water flowing silently and let your negative thoughts go away slowly and try and imerge positive thoughts for urself and be confident u will do great in ur exams and all ur other family issues will be resolved ..make sure this is a very positive thought dont have any doubt about this..everything will be alright and try and reduce your thoughts .. and slowly you should be able to sleep..

Over the counter sleeping pills work. I take tylenol PM usually 3. It helps to make you doze alot easier.
Drink chamomile tea an hour before going to bed. That's helps me. When you are under stress sometime you cannot sleep. Go for a walk after meal. Talk to some one who will listen to you rather than giving advise. or write down all your problems. A little silent prayers helps. Just close your eyes and think of some thing nice and meditate. Yoga helps too. When you are upset or under stress listen to music and sing along.
i'll tell you something from my experience when you really feel that and can't sleep try to arrange half an hour walking before sleep it give you lose energey and feel tired belive me it is the real solution because when you feel awake that because your mind thinking and you have some energy inside you but when you lose it ,you will sleep deeply

Besides chamomile tea, you might go to your health food store and buy an amino acid called ornithine and take the recommended amount. It is supposed to help you sleep.
