How is mercury poisoning treated, if someone still has it in their mouth, where a tooth used to be?

Question:

Answers:
most people in most of the civilized countries of the world have some mercury/silver amalgam as fillings in their teeth

most dentists and medical doctors do not believe that this amalgam can leech enough mercury to casue any heath problems

if you really do have mercury poisoning, the common treatment is chelation

if you want to read about chelation from the "fringe" groups that are proponants of it even when there is no evidnece of actual poisoning, try this site

http://www.ctradvmed.com/html/chelation.htm

I personally believe most (but not all) of these alternative medicine techniques are a scam (often unintentional scam, the practitioners are believers)

of course, many "traditional" medical techniques are of equally dubious value
