why does my belly button leak?

Question: Since at least pubery my belly button (an inny not an outy) frequently contains a sicky smelly but invisble watery substance. It doesn't matter how much I clean it it's there. If I leave it & dont clean it, it goes crusty like 'sleepy dust' in your eyes.

It is not constanly there maybe for a week at a time very couple of months. When I have booked doctors appointments it goes away. It is not causing discomfort. But sometimes I can notice the smell.

Your belly buttons not exposed directly to the air, so it holds in moisture. Most anyone who sticks there finger in their belly button will find out no matter how much they shower it smells bad and is moist.
