Is exhaustion and sleepiness normal after lumbar puncure?

Question:
My father who had been operated a few times for brain tumours developed a CSF fistula on his forehead and it couldn't heal because the cerebrospinal fluid was always pouring out throught that small opening preventing healing. Surgeons have tried with CSF drains but it didn't work so they have performed lumbar punctures for a few consecutive days to ease the pressure which allowed the fistula to heal.

A few days ago the fistula reopened and he is getting lumbar punctures daily again, the skin on his forehead seems to heal very well, but he is very very sleepy. Is this normal after this type of lumbar punctures?

Thanks

Answers:
I am sure if it wasn't normal his doctor would address the situation. Talk to the doctor about these things so you don't have to worry about them. I am sure you have enough stress about your father already.. Take care
i think so
