Is my baby teething already?

Question:
My baby is just over 9 weeks old, she got her first immunisations 4 days ago. Since then she has been fretful and shaking her head about, chewing her hands and dribbling. she also has diarrheoa.
Is she too young to be teething? Could some of the symptoms be due to immunisations? (fretful, daiorrhea)

Answers:
If you have any concerns you should take your baby to the Doctor. The chewing hands and dribbling and in some cases the runs are all indicators of teething. But you should still get her checked out just to be on the safe side! I felt like I was always at the Doctors with my children but at least it puts your mind at rest.

Go contact a doctor if you're worried, not us.

im 15 i dont kno much about kids but awwwwww so cute! If you're concerned you should seek advice from your health visitor, or GP.

Could be both. Those are definitely symptoms of teething, but some infants have the same reaction to immunizations. Just keep a close eye and if anything gets worse, call your pediatrician.

I would contact the doctor. It is possible that she is teething already. I got my first tooth at three months old. However it sounds more like side effects from the immunizations. I would rather be safe than sorry and check with a doctor!

yes, some of the symptoms sound like it could be from the immunizations, check with her doc. It is never to early for a baby to start teething also, some are even born with a tooth! I would check with her doc just to be sure she's ok though. your baby is so young that you need to call the doctors office and speak to a nurse at the clinic

If she has diarrhea get her to a physician fast!

Teeth can start coming through at any time. Use Bonjela to try and ease any pain.

And give her something to chew on, like a teething ring.

Could be that some of the symptoms are related to the jab. Speak to your doctor/health visitor

she could be teething. some babies are even born with teeth. hi,
my son just had his two month checkup(a week or so ago) , and he had the same symptoms, and he now is getting two lower teeth. I use baby ambosol, tyonal at night and he is doing fine. my doctor told me they have diorrhea because of the weather and the slight tempature they get when teething. It does pass though.

have a feel in her mouth.. if you feel teeth coming through or about to come through then it could be teething, some kids are born with teeth so they can get them any age!!
another sign are some kids get spots or red patches on their cheeks from the teeth.

but dont dismiss it as simply teething, it could be the jabs, ask a doctor and they can tell you for sure..

dont panic, i know that sounds silly considering but im sure its nothing major, i hope it all works out for you and little one too

:)
