Why are most prescription bottles a burnt orange color?
Question:
Answers:
Because it's one of the better colours for preventing light penetrating through the bottle and into the liquid or tablets therein, and light can (i) oxidise, (ii) heat, and (iii) maybe do other less probable things that will disturb the chemical integrity of the contents. That's one reason why they usually tell you to keep medicines etc. in cool dark places (as well as being away from little prying fingers etc.)
Hope that helps.
well i'm not sure why the color they have been that Color, since 1922
