My kidney stones passed today, why am I still in so much pain?

Question:
I was told that as soon as I passed the stones I would know it and all the pain would go away. i felt two pass today and i even caught one, so I know they passed. Why do I still hurt as if they never passed?

Answers:
it's possible that you haven't passed all of them. the reason they hurt is because they are moving through you kidneys, so if you still have pain you may still have some stones moving around.
Matbe the pain takes a while to leave.
You might have more of them in there and if not, the passage they take in route to pass is probably very irritated and inflammed. Nothing of size should be moving through there so yes it's gonna irritate and be awfully sore but if all the stones are out now it will gradually improve.
this would be a hard question to answer without doing some kind of x-ray, but my best guess is that there are more. in general, the pain with kidney stones is only felt with movement of the stones. if you are still in pain, there may yet be more stones to pass.
Maybe u had more than 2. When they pass, u will have relief from the pain.
Stones just passed out of a very sensitive part of your body. its gonna take a few day's. Good luck, been there way too many time's myself.
perhaps you just passed kidney stones! perhaps they caught a bit of damage or irritation on the way out try www.wikipedia.org for more info.
talk to your doctor about an IVP being done to see if you have anymore its painless i had it done and also talk to him about the pain you are expierencing too i think it might of had scratched you up alittle while passing them it can happen pending on what kind of kidney stones you are passing.
Maybe some are still trying to work their way out- ouch! I would think it would difficult to see how many were in the kidney by ultrasound or xray- so maybe there are more- follow md instruction= take care -D
