Please tell me when the pain will go away.Tuesday I had a perirectal abscess drained,scraped,and packed.Thursday,I followed Doctor's orders by removing the packing while sitting in a warm tub (agony).I still cannot sit,and cannot even care for my 4 children.My husband is missing work,and must return.When will this ordeal get better?I am on the antibiotics Flagyl and Levaquin,and taking Tylenol with codeine for pain.

that's only 4 days, it will take a little while, you should start feeling improvement though at the 5/6 day point. it will be tender until it heals, and and a lot depends on the size to the healing time. Just watch for signs of infection, redness,swelling, warmth, funky drainage or smell, keep it clean and dry. Its a stuff thing. those are nasty. unfortunately time is what it takes, but it should start getting betting soon. call your doctor if in doubt. Im not a Dr. Just a nurse. hope you feel better
