I have bad back, been taking pain killers, now the doctors has giving me musle relaxers.Whats the difference ?

Question:
Will muscle relaxers make you tired ? The pain killers make me feel great.

Answers:
"pain" killer is for pain
"muscle" relaxer relaxes muscle
They both cause drowsiness

Other Answers:
Muscle relaxers do just what they say.they relax your muscles. You may feel weak and it may be hard to move around. Pain killers do just what they say as well..they kill the pain. Pain killers like Oxycontin, Tylenol 3, Vicodin and such will make you tired and are addictive..so be careful and read the instructions on the RX label..
This won't answer your question and it may sound weird but I used to be troubled by a bad back also, my doctor recommended I do sit-ups, 25 in the morning, 25 at night, it actually worked, my back doesn't bother me near as much and I lost a few pounds as well, seriously.
Most prescription pain killers are usually narcotics(based on the molecular structure of morphine)Muscle relaxers are something besides narcotics. They will do their job, relax your muscles.

I also have a bad back and used to take a lot of prescription medicines,However I stopped taking anything stronger than aspirin..too addictive!
Be careful in taking muscle relaxers.
Remember your heart is a muscle and your lungs are muscle controlled. If they stop working...no more pain I suppose?
These doctors DO know what they are doing!
Sorry.
My advice; find someone to help you bring some balance back to your body. Short weak muscles around the spine and hips are the major contributor to back pain.
Cut back on acidic foods. Diet needs to be 80% alkaline and 20% acidic. A diet high in acidic content affects the body's tissues and how the muscles perform.
