How can burning asbestos affect someone who breathed the smoke for about 5 minutes?

Question:

Answers:
The effects can't be known just yet. Asbestosis in your body can only be discovered in years to come. However, many of us have been exposed to some type of asbestos for many years and not had any known effect at all.
There are also three forms of asbestos, each one being more harmful than the other. So it's hard to say which form of asbestos was burning. So hard to say anything definite.

they die in 10 to 20 years

I have a family member who was exposed to asbestos for a long period of time and still has it in his lungs but nothing has happened to him because of it. He gets it checked periodically, he's in his 70's and hasn't even worked with or around the stuff for at least 35 years. A doctor can x-ray your lungs and tell you if anything is suspect. Aspestos causes Aspestosis, Aspestosis is caused by breathing in the fine Aspestos particles.. Now, burn it in a fire? Do you remember when u were a kid and had a bik bonfire out the back, and u saw some embers flying up? well that is happening with the fine particles. I'd say that it would be worse breathing the smoke from an Aspestos fire than kissing a Aspestos sheet! U are in for the worst time of your life if u actually did this

Isn't asbestos suposed to be a flame retardant?
