Does anyone else have bad side effects on anti depressants?

Question:
Is it just better not to be on the medication at all?

Answers:
The point is to find the correct antidepressant for you. Not everybody can take the same one. For example I was on Remeron and it is HORRIBLE for me. Some other people love it. I have now been on Effexor-XR for five years and it is great, I feel very normal.

See a doctor that will work with you not against you.

They have different effects, because the most popular three right now use different drugs. I was on zoloft for a while, and my insomnia at the time was severe. Also, despite feeling "happier", I really didn't feel like myself anymore, it was as if my brain was being taken over by a frat boy. It really depends on your situation, but for me, anti-depressants just don't work. They provide a chemical in your brain that you weren't born with, so they should be used as a last resort. A lot of the anti-depressants greenlighted recently are just now showing up with newfound side-effects, and some of them are pretty terrible. You should be careful, doctors still don't have that great a handle on new drugs on the market.
