if a big red ant bites me i get nauseated and faint and swell up bad.

no i'm not, but i'm deathly afriad of them cause when i was like 4 this big *** ant bit my toe and wouldn't let go of it, my dad had to cut it in half with nail clippers :-S

Have you ever consider this could be a psychosomatic response to a bad childhood experience?

It seems to me that more than a real allergy, what you have is that you are terrified by ants as a consequence of perhaps an early childhood experience, maybe on your first months of life.

Just try to imagine the following scene: You are a loved and well cared child, only a few months old, and by chance one day your mother discovers a few ants in your crib. Your mother, fearing the worse, gets a panic attack. You don't know what ants are, but you are aware of their presence and learn that those things are a cause of panic.

You later forget the issue, but the association of ants with panic gets into the back of your mind.

As an adult you have no rational reason to fear ants, but deep inside yourself you are scared to death of them.

This could explain the nausea and the faint.

The swelling is normal to everyone.

What are you doing near ants?

Naturally, this is just an opinion.
