health care occupation?

i am a 40 year old male with a high school education wishing to make a career change into healthcare.(i want to work in a hospital) wishing to make around 40k yr.with about 1 year or less training is there anything anyone can suggest...i do not wish to be a nurse.. wanting a career working with some sort of equipment or device...can anyone suggest anything ?

Answers:
there is a hig need for lab techs, and its a high paying and great job to get into. You could work in a hospital amung the nurses and doctors, taking blood, using the equipment that is used to analyse it...its a good possibilty for you. Or there's x-ray techs if you want to go further and really get into using the equipment, but its a very hard program and a lot to be learned....of course so is a lab tech but its more people oriented than machine oriented. Less anatomy than an x-ray tech would need.
