I've just had a medical after a car crash- when will i get an offer of compensation?

Question:

Answers:
You can only claim compensation if you were not responsible for the accident and somebody else was. Compensation must be claimed from a third party, it is not offered to you automatically. If injured, best to get advice from a solicitor, he/she will advise on how much compensation can be claimed for injuries suffered. Negotiations on actual amounts to be claimed, for such things as damage to property (car, clothing etc), loss of wages if unable to work and payments to cover any injuries sustained, will not normally start until your prognosis is known ie no good accepting any early settlement and then trying to claim more if your health deteriorates after payment made. Any payments made are normally ". in full and final settlement" of your claim, which means you cannot go back for more money if your health gets worse after settlement made to you.

If you are injured by an uninsured or hit and run driver, you can approach the Motor insurers Bureau (M.I.B.) an organisation set up by Insurance Companies to make payments to people injured in motor accidents by unknown or uninsured persons. They only make payments if you are injured, nothing for damage to any items of property, such as a car.

you should if the person had insurance

you have to claim, not be offered! if u don't search for it noone is gonna propose

You have to claim first and it could take up to 3years before receiving any monies.

You will need to fill in a compensation claim form in order to claim some. You can get one from your own insurance company or the insurance company of the other person involved.
How long you will have to wait will depend on the size of your claim. I was in a minor accident some years ago and received a payment around 6 months later (around £800), however, a friend of mine was involved in a much more serious accident a few years ago and the case is still ongoing. He is expecting a substantially larger payout though.

depends on the insurance comany and who actually caused the accident, and what degree you were responsible for the accident. I hope you feel better soon who caused the car crash you or was it the other partys fault if its the other party make a claim

only your solictor and insurance company can tell you that.
