strained muscle need help?

The wrap is a good start. Compression will help. Ice ice ice. If there is any discoloration like bruising then you have probably torn some muscle fibers. If you have no bruising then you can start slowly stretching the muscle back out. Lay on your stomach slow bring your heel towards your butt. If you can't get it far enough to grab it with your hand put a towel around it. Tension not pain is the rule for stretching. If you pull until it hurts all you are doing is slowing down the healing process. If there is bruising under the skin go get it checked out. An anti-inflamatory will help some with the pain but NSAIDs like motrin or naproxen don't start helping with true in-flamation until they have built up in your system which will take a few days to a week. But they are pretty good for mild pain control. When in doubt see a physical therapist.
Heat and ice in alternating sequence.
Then rest and NSAIDS.
Slowly return to exercise with lots of stretching.
Ice only for the first 48 hours. Only allow enough movement to keep it from stiffening up. Motrin, if not otherwise contraindicated, will block inflammation.
After 48 hours: heat, strecthing, exercise as tolerated, stretching, ice.
My best advice is to remember RICE.
Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate
Intake of food will not heal your muscle over night, your tissues have to rebuild and assess damage which can take a few weeks to months depending on the extent of the injury.
