Your throat will feel swolen. It will hurt or sting to swallow. You may get a fever. There could be other symptoms too. This is just what happened to me. You don't always have to get your tonsils removed. I've still got mine even though I was prone to tonsilitis as a child. Antibiotics are usually given to clear it as it is a viral infection.

Doctors are not so quick to remove your tonsils anymore, as the remaining area can still become infected again. Go so your Doctor for some antibiotics and you should start feeling better pretty soon. really sore throat. feel like there are needles stabbing the back of your throat whenever you swallow. also, i usually feel all lethargic when i get it. eating and drinking will really hurt if you have it
Your throst is really red and sore. Difficult to swallow even drinks. Go and see a doctor.
