Do chewable antibiotic pills have to be chewed? What if they're just swallowed?

Question:
amoxicillin 250 mg pills from Teva pharmaceuticals

Answers:
With most drugs you should ingest them the way prescribed. As with tablets that are to be swollowed, you wouldn't chew, because it breaks down the chemical make up of the drug. You should chew it if stated to do so. Normally amoxil is swollowed, I'm not sure of your age group so that may be the case. Even still follow the instructions given.
