Massage the scar with Vitamin E oil twice a day until it fades. It's worked for a lot of mine. :)
don't know which procedure you had, but i know of someone who did have scars on either side, and now they are gone, took a year or so.
time!
a year ago i had surgery on my neck, right in the front, middle. it looked like someone had slit my throat. i was soooooooooo self concience about it. i am happy to report to you, with time, its barely noticable. if you just met me, you wouldnt know it was there.
Yes - I was bit on the face by a dog three years ago so had to research this.
First, ALWAYS put lots of sun block on it because your scar will tan darker than the rest of your skin and will not fade out when your tan does.
Second, try those bandaid like things they sell at the store. They press down on the scar - you have to use them for quite a while. Not sure how they work - supposedly they soften it but who knows. I used them for a while.
Third, Dermablend concealing makeup really works. You can buy it at the drug store and just use it on the scar.
Fourth: it will fade over time - I promise.
Bio Oil is great
