Who do I see, a podiatrist or an orhipedist?

Question:
I was born with a club foot 26 yrs ago. I had a heel lengthening while still a baby and wore a brace till I was 5. I was fine for a long time, although my ankle was always weaker than the other. I danced, etc. I gained a bit of weight a couple of years ago and am in the process of loosing it, but I feel my ankle seizing (I hope just from lack of exercise) up on me and I'm turning in again. I'm afraid it's clubbing again, and would like to see a doctor. My GP is an idiot, so I would rather go to a "specialist". Do I need to see a podiatrist or an orthipedist? I have always worn a softbrace when exercising, but I seem to need it more often now. It is also hurting sometimes.

Answers:
An Orthopedic surgeon.
A podiatrist is more than qualified.
