Does smoking increases metabolism?
Question:
Answers:
Yeah, increases heart rate, pulse, blood pressure. Not a reason to start, though.
Other Answers:
Yes. but don't start for that sole reason..Actually don't start period..
The opposite. It decreases metabolism.
smoking decreases oxygen to your body. I don't think it helps anything.
I think not but more as a food replacement
Not exactly.
It dehydrates you immediately and make you slimmer instead.
Smoking does burn calories, up to 200 a day in a heavy smoker.
Smoking increases energy expenditure, or metabolism.
Quitting smoking causes weight gain because the body begins to work more efficiently. The body's metabolism slows and food is digested more efficiently.
Insulin levels increase, which enable the body to process more sugar for energy
its actually decrease
nope. i think its supposed to slow it in fact, cuz your blood vessels become tighter causing higher blood pressure and less oxygen delivered to the cells in the rest of your body parts. Less oxygen content, means less respiration of the cells>> Lower metabolism. But if you're asking cuz you realized you seem to have lost weight, thats becuz smoking kills your appetite very effectively.
