after a severed nerve in the forearm...?

i lost function and feeling in half the hand. the doctor said it will take about a year and predicted 80% will return after surgery. has anyone been through and regain close to normal for function/feeling?

I have the same problem. However it only effected my pinky fingure. It took a long time. But with a lot of usage it got relativly better. I still have some damage in bending and feeling but have been able to adjust so that its almost normal and un noticable. When time goes on youll get better at adjusting. Good luck
