How does health insurance work when changing jobs?

Question: If I get a week off between my current job and my future job, are my wife and I covered under anything during that week off?

You should be just fine for a week. I believe that after some time you get the Cobra crap

Maybe from the previous job. With some jobs you are covered for 3 months after leaving. Depends on the health insurance you have.
