How to dry a Wet cast?

Question:
I was taking a bath and almost fell asleep and my cast on my arm fell into the water and got wet, will it hurt anything and how can I try to dry it?

Answers:
you really should call your doctor or if that costs too much, can you go into a medical center?? your arm probably depends on that cast and now the strength is gone, for your own good, seek medical advise, they are the only people who can lift your worry, we all here are actually guessing and your arm deserves more than a guess, right? good luck to you!
Use a hairdryer & give your doc a call in the morning, he may want to replace it.
If you have a plaster cast, you may have a problem as water will damage the plaster. It doesn't re-set, so it may simply crumble once it dries. If you have a plastic or fiberglass cast, no harm done.
try a hair blower. unfortunately, some casts, depending on what they're made of, will literally start falling apart. (in that case you need to head on in to the doctors to get it re-cast)

Its not really that uncommon though, i dropped my arm in the sink rinsing off a plate and the thing just fell apart. but that was a few years ago. so materials may have changed. Good luck!
Go see your doctor right away. Do not use any heating apparatus on the cast. You will most probably burn your skin. The doctor should replace your cast with a new one. Go now!
