What is the difference in prescription strength Ibuprofen and over the counter non-prescription Ibuprofen?

Question:

Answers:
Over-the-counter Ibuprofen normally comes in 200 mg strength(per pill) and doctors can write prescriptions for as much as 800 mg strength(per pill). The 800 mg pills are generally much larger and you usually only need one pill at a time. I work for EMS that's how I know.

AS A PHARMACY TECH I'M TELLING U THAT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE MGS., THAT'S ALL. I GET OVER THE COUNTER & THEN ADJUST IT TO WHAT I NEED, LIKE 500, 600 & SOMETIMES 800.
Prescription strength usually comes in like 600mg or something like that. And the prescribed dosage is way less than that for otc meds.
The strength is correct. Basically, it would be like taking 4 over the counter tabs compared to one prescribed tab. I can't take the stuff as it irritates my stomach. Make sure you eat and drink plenty of water when you take um.
nothing really..
only difference is the milligram and the cost...
you can get the same quality ibuprofen for 2 bucks at any drug store..
just match up the milligrams
Not a thing except the milligrams of dosage.... and now cyou can getvhigh over the counter stuff...

on an empty stomach that stuff will rot a hole..eat first
in Canada over the counter Ibuprofen is 200mg and a Prescription is 600mg
I think they are both the same..
A PA recently told me to take 4 advil 3 x daily. That is perscription strength.
