Has anyone heard of lower lumbar L5 Gild Surgery? 2 Discectomies have not worked; looking at a 3rd surgery.?

Question:
A relative told my husband and I to check out a surgery called "lower lumber L5 Gild" surgery. My husband has already had two surgeries to repair a disc and and is now scheduled for a third one on the same (L5-S1) disc in a few weeks. We don't want to go through this again and again. If anyone knows any resources or information where we can learn more about this new procedure to end my husband's leg and back pain, please let us know. Thank you. Tammie

Honey I've had 5 lumbar fusions. The last one was at L5-S1. I've never heard of lumbar Gild surgery before & my surgeon is up to speed on the new stuff. As for back surgeries being a scam (HawkOhio) I won't say that they always work but it's a hell of a lot better than the kind of pain I was in! These surgeries relieved not only my back pain, but the radiculopathy( pain that travels down the leg) as well. If after 2 failed discectomies your husbands surgeon is actually considering another instead of a fusion, he's crazy. The gold standard of care in this circumstance is to try a discectomy ONE time. If that fails he should have proceeded with a fusion.
Back surgery is a money making scam that the medical association should be ashamed of.
Have you ever heard of kyphoplasty? or a caudal cath? I knew patients who had a caudal cath inserted in their lower back temporarily and were pain free for 1 year. A year later they come in for a caudal cath again. Its just a tiny catheter inserted into the place of pain to inject medicine. This one particular couple flew all the way from New York to see a doctor here in Texas that specializes in this procedure. He is awesome!
Yes. I have treated such failed surgery cases. If possible visit us. It won't cost you more but travelling and stay will cost you more.
