has anyone ever had kidney stones?

Question:
if so, this is my dilemma the doctor wants to blast the stone.. the problem is my 2500 dollar hospital deductible which in 10 months i will be able to upgrade my insurance.. can i put off the surgery for that amount of time?

Answers:
If your urologist wants to "blast" the stone via lithotripsy the stone must be large enough in diameter that it won't pass through the ureter into the bladder. Besides the excruciating pain you will experience, the blockage could cause the kidney to enlarge and become damaged. It does not sound like you should put off this procedure.
Ask your doctor. He obviously thinks they are large enough to cause problems and if they get loose into your Urinary Tract they could be very painful.

I have a male friend who had a small stone and had to pass it. He said the pain indescribable.
nope. If the stone needs to be "blasted", it's because it is blocking the ureter, the tube that drains urine from the kidney. If you don't get it done and soon, you can destroy your kidney, not to mention the unendurable pain that can result.
