i travelled in an airplane for the first today..i experienced pain in my ears and my ears felt very numb why?

Question:
is that ok?i mean is that natural or is something wrong with me?

Answers:
Everything is fine. It is just the changes in pressureas the plain goes up and down. When the plain is taking off swallow or chew gumm to help them adjust to the lower amounts of pressure, and then when it is landing hold your nose closed and try to breath through it until you feel the pressure change. don't do it too hard though and stop once the pressure changes in your ears. Repeat this as necessary. It can be pretty confusing and weird at first huh? Nothing is wrong with you though.

Other Answers:
air pressure, yes its normal, alot of people chew gum or practice yawning. That way there ears dont suddenly lose their hearing. Its all natural and your ok.

natural - its the air pressure - chew gum next time it will help No .Nothing seems to be wrong.Your symptoms occurred to me also .I put cotton in my ears the second time.

Most likely the sensation you felt was due to the pressure differential from the normal elevation to an artificially pressurized airplane cabin. Airplanes usually cruise around 30,000ft and at that elevation, there is little atmosphere, and hence no air pressure. Cabins in aircraft are artifically pressurized to maintain comfort and temperature for the passengers. This artifical pressurization often makes people's ears "pop" when the airplane elevates and the difference in pressure becomes noticable. Chewing gum and yawning frequently will help the sensation pass.

Change in air pressure. Yes it's normal. Not fun, but normal. Kind of like when you're driving up a mountain and your ears pop, only worse. But it's fine.

the reason they feel numb is they did now pop from the algatoot it will go away in time

Airplanes are internally pressurized because there is not enough air pressure above 7 or 8 thousand feet, and also to help maintain the structural integrity of the airplane. The pilot is trying to simulate normal atmospheric pressure of ground level.

That due to air pressure. Use cotton next time.

The best way to blow the air out of your ears:-
Take a deep breath, close nose realkand exhale hard.

It works the best
