I can't fall asleep! Any ideas??!?!?

What are you doing before you lay down? You need to unwind from your day before just trying to sleep. A glass of wine or cup of tea, a warm bath with candles and some aroma therapy bath salts and some aroma therapy spray for your sheets to help you relax. I also like to put in a cd either natural sounds, a soft gentle rain or crackling fire or some classical music on a low setting. I like someone else who answered like to read so I find something I like and read until my eyes get droopy.
As a last resort you could always try an over the counter sleep aid. I have heard that ambien (sp?) works well. Sometimes I take a tylenol pm if nothing else is working.
But the best thing is to try and figure out why your not sleeping. You have to learn to let all your worries from the day go, weather it is money, family, all the errands you have to do the following day etc.
Best of luck to you.
Try a fan or reading
Okay lay down..Relax.. Think only about sleeping. Listen to only yourself breathing in and out.
Restless nights, I have had those also, sometimes nothing works and you go through the next day tired, try relaxation therapy and reading a book..good luck
Tylenol p.m~it's non-addictive. Good Luck!
Try eliminating caffeine, sugar, fast food, cookies, candy, and MSG from your diet. Some people are sensitive to food additives.
Try drinking a cup of chammomile tea before going to bed. It is an herbal tea, and is also very good at relaxing you.
I'm the sort of person who needs to have a little sound - but not "noise" - to fall asleep, rather than completely quiet surroundings. I run a small fan in my bedroom for to create a bit of continuous sound that I personally find soothing.
i Do word games or read and it knocks me out.
Actually the girl who said a fan is a good idea, the only problem is you won't be able to sleep w/out it.
watch a really scary movie or a very boring movie , do something fun like writing read watch tv while you in the bed turn the air on get cold or hot , think about sleeping , i hope i help
Drink some sleepy time tea, listen to music with sound effects (such as water fall) and if you have to watch tv you want to go into another room and then come back to your room once you start getting sleepy.
Take that over the counter medcine simply sleep. It works so good because you dont have that druged feeling you get good sleep and you dont feel like you took medicine
You could try meditation or prayer before bed. With doing that you can relax the mind. It will help relieve the stresses of the day or problems you might be having if you do. Clearing your mind or even thinking of something pleasant works well when trying to fall asleep. Warm milk, tea, or cocoa can also sooth you into dream land. Soft music a warm bath/shower can also do the trick. They make a few different products to help aide the body into transition for sleep. Teas you can drink, lotions, body washes or soaps have certain ingredients in them relax the body. You have a variety of ideas to choose from. If all those ideas are not for you try the old fashion one of counting sheep. Hope you can get some rest.
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in your body which regulates sleep. If your sleep problems become a persistent problem, you can try taking a supplement available at most drug stores. As with any over the counter medication, herbal or supplement, you should ask your doctor to evaluate your medical history to rule out the possibility of interaction or other harm.
some times tiring to sleep is very difficult
you may need a better bed
music can help you feel comfortable
i fine a television with either no sound or with music works for me
this works by the flickering light on your eyes making you seem to think your dreaming have a sleep timer on your tele so you are not wasting electricity don't do this ever night as you will start to get used to it
the trick is to not watch the TV
alway make sure you are comfortable
and ready for bed
good luck
