Question:
only those who experienced this should answer please.

Answers:
i don't know what the person above me is thinking! the PNS nerves can regenerate at 1mm/day. there are some people who regained their feelings and functions back after they have gone through surgery with an injury like this. it takes a lot of time and patience. through physical theraphy, and exercises, you should, the brain can do wonders
I know you would like answers from those in the know, but if you have completely severed a nerve, there is no way you should be getting function and feeling back!
Nerves do not regenerate themselves due to a lack of blood supply.

In the hospital, I know of many tradies that have come into the ED following accidents and have quickly undergone micro-surgery, which increases the chance of regaining mobility and feeling, but this is not always the case. I have also seen others come back in for checkups after 6 months of waiting have not had any change.

If someone regains "feeling" back after a nerve injury, it is usually a brain phenomenon that many experience where the brain believes it is stimulating the damaged nerve and receiving signals back. If your wanting to research it further it is known as 'Phantom Limb Syndrome'. Very freaky indeed.
