Is this normal, I have never had this before?

Question:
I have hip dysplasia and other bone deformities and am scheduled for complete hip replacement in January. I am in constant pain which is normal for the past 5-6 years it is usually bearable with the meds the doc prescribed. The past few weeks the pain is excruciating and nothing I take seems to help. Tonight it is around fourty degrees and I do not have the heat on as I am sweating constantly even under the fan. I have never had this reaction to pain before so I was wondering if it is normal seeing how the pain has gotten worse or could it be something else entirely? I am not sleeping well because of the pain and have a hard time keeping food down as the pain is making me sick to my stomach. Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated.

For those who will ask I am 34 and have not gone through the change as of yet and other than a couple of irregular periods which is also normal for me have no other symptoms. So I don't think it could be that, but who knows.

Answers:
The pain you are suffering could be causing you to have heat flashes. When your body is in more pain then it can handle your tempature may rise. It could also be from the pain medicine exspecially if you are taking a new kind, a higher dose, or a lower dose then usual. When people's body's are stressed out by pain or other conditions they react strangley such as hot or cold flashes ect. I hope this helps you. Try using cold washclothes on the back of your neck and your stomache. Sometimes it helps. I think it is normal but you may want to ask your doctor.
The best thing that you can do is to talk to your doctor about the increased pain levels. If you doctor is not able to diagnose this change, ask for a referral to a specialist in the area of pain management. Under no circumstances should you try to self diagnose or treat, as this could be the result of another condition that you are not aware of.
It is not easy to answer on internet as yours' is a chronic typical problem.
You feel relief because of strong doses of painkillers. You were sweating most probably due to painkillers' reaction making your heart hyperactive.
You have already decided to go for hip replacement but before that i will suggest to go to an acupuncturist or better visit us if possible.
I think I understand your pain. I think you might of hurt your tailbone at some time. This will cause the symptoms you have described, Because of the way I sit my hips are sore. I think it might be more than just dyspalsia. I also had an MRI done on my lower back and it came clean. I found this website and it told me what I needed to know. I got an x-ray on my tailbone area and there it was. You should get your coccyx/sacrum x-ray. www.coccyx.org
Good Luck with everything!
You may be running a fever.
