Compare Zestril with Nisedical (heart medications). The Dr. changed meds . . .?
Question:
Pharmacy - nothing
Google - nothing
Answers:
Well your first problem might be spelling. The only heart medication I can find that relates to this is Nifedipine (there are various brand names) This medication is a calcium channel blocker. Nifedipine relaxes (widens) your blood vessels (veins and arteries), which makes it easier for the heart to pump and reduces its workload.
Nifedipine is used to lower hypertension (high blood pressure) and to treat angina (chest pain). While Zestril (lisinopril) is in a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Lisinopril is used to lower blood pressure, to treat congestive heart failure, and to improve the survival rate after a heart attack.
So, both are used to lower blood pressure however they act differently on the heart. This could go into more detail however I tried to keep it simple.
