What is a good walking pace as a means of exercising?
Question:
Answers:
Start off slowly if you are not used to it, maybe a 15 minute to 17 minute mile and work your way faster to a 10-11 minute mile. That is a pretty brisk walk. You'll want comfortable shoes, and a long-legged dog for that.
Other Answers:
A 15 minute mile is a very good, brisk walking pace. That will give you 4 miles an hour.
Definitely power walking with hand weights!
find out your resting heart rate (normal is about 40-55)
then walk fast enough to raise your heart rate to 55 - 65% higher.
for example, if your Resting is 45 then work at about 75-85 beats per minute for an extended period of time.
hope this helps
