cartilage piercing question?

Question:
i peirced my own cartilage last monday. i'm wondering how long it should hurt. its alittle red, but not swollen or infected. also, whats the best way to clean it.

Answers:
It will be sore for awhile, it takes aproximately 1 month to 1 year to heal completely depending on your bodies natural healing time. Most people is about 6 months. Do not put rubbing alcohol on it that will only irritate it more. If you are not allergic you can take ibuprofin (advil or motrin) for the pain. You should wash it twice a day with a liquid antibacterial soap such as dial. Also the use of h2ocean or sterile saline wound wash (not contact saline) is recomended.

I don't know I never weirced anything myself but if it's just a little pain n no sign of infection then you did good. Give it a week or two to heal and use rubbing alcohol and keep your fingers away from it so there are not so many germs in that area. Keep it clean n dry!
Go to your local walmart or claires stores and get some ear care solution. This will heal it up. It will vary on how lone it will hurt. Some people's do not hurt at all and some people will hurt a long time. Your can also use witchhazel.
