I've had some problems with Insomnia over the past two weeks?
Question:
Please don't tell me to ask my doctor or look into other possibilities for I'm doing so already.
Answers:
You are right,
Before visiting a Doctor we should at least look at the most basic issues that can affect sleep.
1) How late did you go to sleep Id eally especially if you are in recuperating mode, go to sleep before 10pm
2) Did you eat stimulant foods prior to sleep (4 to 6 hours)
Such as sugar based foods (deserts, Soda Pops, Coffee, Teas etc.) and Smoking has a lot of stimulants and create major fatigue issues.
3) Do you work before going to sleep..(it makes the mind very active) It might be better to do something laid back an hour before sleeping (avoid watching the news. but rather read something relaxing or take a walk)
4) Do you eat too late.. Try to eat around 6 o clockish at the latest and eat light for dinner.
5) Do you exercise or go to Gym in the evening. It does affect many peoples Sleep as it stimulates the body.
6) Did you have a all nighter or almost recently.. It can take a couple of nights of normal sleep to recuperate
7) Did you drink Surenal gland penalising drinks such as Coffee and Bear.
8) It can take a while before alcoohol gets absorbs into the system. It looks like it may make you body relax but it actually, for many, makes sleep very light and not deep at all.
9) Do you drink enough water (makes sur you drink it based on Turst and not quantity)
So hope this common sense gigi helped !

Do you drink caffeine? I had problems with insomina until I cut out all caffeine sources after 3 p.m. and it worked great. Also it is possible you have sleep apnea.
If it is insomnia there are many causes. Eating patterns, what you are eat major ones.
E.g. Start the day with a big breakfast, yo can even splurge and have something really sinful (fried bacon and stuff), its ok because depending on how active you will be through the day you will use the calories. Eacs meal after that should be half the size of the last. So an szndwich for lunch and for dinner or supper cereal.
Avoid caffein and fatty foods later in the day and excercise after work.
You should sleep fine in that case.
Thats how I sorted out my sleeping patterns.
Oh and try sleeping whrn you feel you may fall over from fatigue.
Is there something on your mind or is something bothering you? That's the only thing that keeps me up. Avoid caffeine after 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Avoid alcohol after 7 pm. Don't eat heavy meals after 6 pm. Spray some lavender or chamomile on your sheets. Drink some caffeine free chamomile or mint tea about an hour before you usually go to bed. Take a hot bath with lavender or chamomile soak.
