Does hypnosis work ?

Question:
Thinkingof trying it for fear of flying. Meant to be going to America next year.

Answers:
Yes it does work and can be very successful, my housemate used it to control pain and I know a number of people who use it to overcome phobias etc.

Find a reputable hypnotherapist through one of the following organisations:
http://www.nrhp.co.uk/index.htm.
http://www.bsch.org.uk/
http://www.general-hypnotherapy-register.

And go to one of them, see if you get on with them (as trust is an important part of the process) and let them explain how the therapy will work and what they will do - they should answer your questions clearly and not try to avoid answering - do not be satisfied with them if they cannot give you an answer (just remember that "I don't know how long it will take" and similar are perfectly valid answers for this kind of thing!).
yes if you want it to
Look into my eyes look straight into my eyes...
tut. look into my eyes my eyes not around the eyes look into my eyes.. you're under! Yes it does
hypnosis works for those who really want it to work. No one can hypnotize you against your will, or make you do anything you don't actually want to do.
I used hypnosis to get over my fear of cataract surgery. I went in for the first eye and experienced such a panic attack when in the surgical suite, that they had to strap me down. At the point of the panic attack I already had liquid demerol running thru my veins. They like to do cataract surgery under local anesthesia but they had to knock me out completely.

Before the second surgery I went to hypnosis. I flew thru the second surgery with no problems and was calm enough to rationally speak with the surgeon throughout the surgery. I still had demerol in my veins but I didn't have to get general anesthesia.
Yes - if you can relax - if you can give up control - if you believe in it. Most cannot give up control as you have this fear of what they can do while you are under. No matter that they cannot make you do anything that you would not normally do, you probably believe they can get you to strip and walk out in the shopping mall. It does not work that way. It is very effective for people who are 100% comfortable with themselves and the issue they want to deal with.
Look into my eyes ; not around my eyes , your under !
I've heard it does work for many people but it didn't work for me. Not sure why.
Hypnotherapy is great to use for fear of flying and similar sorts of fears/phobias e.g. acrophobia (phobia of high places). Some hypnotherapists will use suggestion therapy to help you to deal with the anxious feelings and emotions concerned with flying so you will be able to cope with the different stages of boarding the aircraft, taking off, flying., then landing. This works well for many people.

Other techniques may involve getting to the root of any deeper problems associated with flying and helping to release those problems so that your fears about flying diminish.

It would be a good idea to contact several hypnotherapists who will send you some information (e.g. qualifications, cost etc) and then start the sessions in good time. It may take a few weeks for you to start to feel good and positive about flying; if there are deeper problems, it could take longer.

Rest assured that hypnotherapy has helped many people with these problems.
my mate used it to quit smoking a month ago and hasnt looked back
