should we sleep beside a laptop computer playing soothing music?

Question:
my gf would'nt let me play music at night besides my bed , as i play it using my apple i book , ,,she says she has read somewhere that laptop computer screen as well as keyboard ,infact whole computer emits radiations that are harmfull for health ,and i should not sleep beside a working laptop computer

Answers:
There have been some studies that show men who use laptops ON THEIR LAPS have lower sperm counts, but that effect was related to the heat the laptops give off and their influence on testicles (who like to be cool to produce a lot) -- there aren't any studies I've ever seen that have called the "raditations" from laptops dangerous in any way.

I travel a lot, and when you're jet-lagged and in a strange hotel room it can be hard to sleep. I often put either music or a DVD on my laptop and fall asleep with it going. As long as you don't toss and turn so much that you knock the laptop on the floor during the night, there's no harm :)

Other Answers:
No, that's not true. If it were true, it would be just as harmful to sleep by it as it would be to have it near you while you were using it. You should tell your gf not to believe everything she reads.

I agree with her. Why not just use an MP3 cd player ??

Sweet dreams ;^) Well if your computer is in screen saver mode then there will be no chance of these right?

no you shouldn't do this buy a mp3 player or somthing!! your laptop should not be on this long of a period.. burn image in screen. it uses much more watts than a normal radio. so your wasting energy. thats not true she shouldnt belive everything she hears if the music helps u sleep then listen to it and if ur gf keeps going on about it just use something else that plays music
