My 10 year old overheats?

Question:
She loves to play sports but in the summer when it is hot and humid she gets red in the face and and doesn't feel good. I feel that she drinks alot of water and she still gets really warm What can I do to help her not get overheated so fast?

Answers:
Well if she is not overweight then it is probably just her metabolism. So people are just like that. Some cooling ideas. Always keep a big jug of ice water easily accessible. Make sure she wears cotton clothing as it breaths more. Get a bandanna keep it wet around her neck also if she is just playing in the front yard put a little plastic pool out there for her to dip her feet into when she warms up. When I ride my dirt bike I get really hot with all my gear on so I have started getting those men's tank tops and soaking them in cold water before I put on my gear. Also keep sandals on her when ever possible and no hats. Heat comes out your head and feet. If her hair is really long and thick think about cutting it. One last thing.make sure she is sweating. Some people have poor disorders. My husband has it on his feet. They don't sweat so he gets these big inflamed bumps on his feet where the sweat wants to come out but can't.

Other Answers:
my daughter played alot of sports when she was younger and a sports doc suggested she take 1/2 gatorade and 1/2 water instead of just one or the other. it seemed to work for her.
She should take frequent breaks in the shade and if she is overheated she should stop playing for the day. Perhaps a visit to the doctor might do her some good. She may be sick and not know it and that is why she's overheated.
that happened to me around that age just tell her to relax in the shade or wherever cooled when overheated and drink water
