Still swollen after 2 1/2 months!!?

Question:
I fractured my foot about 2 1/2 months ago and my ankle is still swollen and larger than normal size, why??

Answers:
Soft tissue damage..
this kind of injury can take months to properly heal to its normal size and use, especially if you have done any walking on it or any kind of exertion ..

Give it time and use an anti inflamitory ( NSAIDS) you will begin to see an improvement..

Other Answers:
ask your doctor
it probably always will be.
i fractured two places on the top of my left foot about 2 to 3 years ago.and it still swells.and i usually know when it's going to rain.my foot starts hurting.
it could be becuase u are walking on it. If its not set right or if its not put in the proper dressings it may not heal properly.
Have you told your doctor? Even if you have, check back with him.
water!
Try resting your leg on a pillow so its above your head when lying and eat things like rice to help draining your fluids.
you better get it taken care of fast. my friend had a swollen foot.. the key is to take care of it before it gets to your brain

joke!

bones.. like toenails take a long time to heal. You've got so many bones in your foot just floating there, so if you broke it.. they're gonna be T-O 'd for a while
well, when you fractured your ankle did you go to the emergency room, and have it looked at and Xrayed. or did you just do nothing, the swelling will be there, but it shouldn't be really huge, if you haven't went to the emergency room, I suggest going now.
Amputation may also be a solution. Then you can replace with titanium foot, at about $1000 - $2000. It would be almost the same as before, plus you won't feel any pain anymore.
