When you stop taking vitamins can that cause your legs to itch?

Question:
I've been taking Centrum Multi-Vitamins every day for about two years. For the last two months its been the 'Centrum Performance' which has 3 times the amounts of most of the vitamins, especially the B-vitamins. I ran out last week and within 2 days my legs began itching like crazy, especially at night. Could there be a connection between the reduced vitamin intake and the itching? I would really like to hear from a real M.D. or someone with a reliable medical sorce.

Answers:
Call your doctor. That's the only way you're going to know for sure that the answer you get is valid.

See a doctor! Sounds like that new Syndrom the pharmaciutical companies invented "Restless Feet Syndrom" something like that Take the vitamins again and see if your legs stop itching. It doesn't seem that there would be a connection but try it.

Your body already produces vitamans unless you were diagnosed with a vitamin deficency. Taking 3x the amount could do harm you can be overdosing on vitamins don't want to scare you but, it is a known fact. Consult Dr.

Uh-Oh. Hey buddy, a high consumption vitamin B2 must be what you are getting. It might be the vitamin B2. Also causes hot flushing of the face and shoulders, headache, itchiness, and stomach problems. An increased risk of stomach cancer too.

Yes.
It is not so good to go cold turkey from a vitamin, esp since you have been taking them for 2 years.
Your body has gotten used to having supplemental vitamins, and now it is lacking. (anything digested can cause side-effects, including inhaled [pollen] eaten [peanut allergy] and even the common medicines, like Tylenol and Motrin).
When going off a supplemental multi-vitamin you can expect itchiness and muscle cramping.
I recommend getting back on the vitamin, slowly..or if you want to ditch the drug, eat right..get a food guide and follow it, or ease yourself from the drug, half a pill a day, then a quarter, then quit. (but eat right anyway, it'll make you feel good)
